I've been making progress on a few of my goals, but nothing to put down on paper or take pictures of. I've actually completed one of my goals already!!! However, the stage manager inside me wants to wait to blog about it until I am able to take pictures of said accomplishment, something I hope to do this weekend.
To think, one week in and I've already completed a goal. When you think about it, 100 things to do is not very much. However when you look at the complexity of a few of them, the list magically becomes daunting. Quite a few of my goals involve me traveling quite a bit. The way I see it, if I plan my trips in just the right way, I can cross off several things on the list in one trip. I've already started thinking about these future trips. I have some adventures in store for me!
My first inkling when I started this blog was to make it funny. So many of my friends have blogs that are funny/amusing/comical etc, however, writing has never been a forte of mine. I seem to write the way I talk, with a few minor adjustments. I will leave the funny business to my friends, but I digress.
One goal that I've been working towards is baking a cake from scratch. Naturally, it would be a chocolate cake, since that's my favorite kind, but I don't want the recipe to be too easy, but I'm also not looking to be Emeril Lagasse. I mean, his recipes are great, but if you ever watched his show, they are QUITE involved. I can just see myself with a recipe AND dictionary in the kitchen, having to look up every other word so that I make the cake correctly. Geesh. Anyway, I've been looking at a couple different recipes, but haven't found one yet that pops out at me. Hopefully I'll find one soon!!! Any ideas?

Creating Your Best Life
I've decided to start a blog to record my experiences through life, but more specifically, my journey through attempting and completing my life list. I don't expect anyone to read this, I just thought it would be a nice way for me to write down the details.
It all started about 3 months ago when I was browsing through Barnes and Noble and came across a table of self help type books. One in particular caught my eye. It was called Creating Your Best Life, The Ultimate Life List Guide, by Caroline Adams Miller and Dr. Michael Frisch. For anyone that knows me, I write EVERYTHING down. I always have a to do list in my planner. In my mind, if I write it down, it frees up brain space for me to think about other things. A book detailing steps and tools to help me build the ULTIMATE list????? Needless to say, I had to have this book.
I diligently read every chapter soaking in what the authors had to say. I felt that my life had come to a sort of plateau, while I just sat and waited for the next stage in my life to begin. I knew what I wanted in life, I just wasn't actively going after anything. I was just waiting. The book is written very methodically and the eventual outcome after reading the book is supposed to be your very own "Life List". Lots of people make life lists, much like the one in the movie "The Bucket List" with Nicholson and Freeman. I'm not sure why I never thought of doing this before because it's the end all of lists.
So basically, my blog (first one ever), will chronicle my hopefully, daily work towards completing my life list. Along the way, I will also share things that I learned while reading the book. I didn't want to start the blog or work on the list until it was complete, which took me a long time. Coming up with 100 things you want to do before you die is a lot harder than it seems. There is no deadline to complete the list, but the goal is to always actively work towards something on the list. On the next post, I will write out the list for the world to see.
